The Ro Story: ROoted in Tradition & Innovation
Born on the banks of the Rocky Mountains, RO Drift Boats began in 1995 when founder Roy “Ro” Eddins set out to build a better boat for the rivers he loved most. What started in a small Idaho shop quickly grew into a name synonymous with craftsmanship, innovation, and performance. Roy wasn’t just building boats—he was refining the experience of rowing and fishing Western rivers, one hull at a time.
In 2006, Roy’s son Robert Eddins carried that legacy north to Bozeman, Montana, positioning RO Drift Boats at the heart of some of the world’s most iconic fisheries. From this new home base, the company evolved its craft—integrating modern composites, advanced layups, and guide-tested layouts while preserving the handmade quality that’s defined RO since day one.
Nearly three decades later, RO Drift Boats continues to set the standard for rowability, durability, and design. Every model reflects the same principles that started it all: precision-built hulls, innovative storage and interior systems, and an unrelenting commitment to the anglers who spend their lives on the water.
From the Yellowstone to the South Fork, our boats are trusted by guides, outfitters, and serious anglers who demand performance they can count on—and a legacy they can feel with every pull of the oar.
